CENTER OF INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF CRIMEAN TATARS

Center of Information and Documentation of Crimean Tatars (CIDCT) is – non-governmental, non-commercial organization, which was founded in 2000.

The primary task of CIDCT is to give information on history and modern development of Crimea and problems, connected with return of the Crimean Tatar people to its historical Motherland and restoration of its political, social, economic and cultural rights within independent Ukraine.

The main form of informational activity of CIDCT is a publication of informational bulletin “Krimski Studii” (in English and in Ukrainian) by periodicity 6 numbers per annum.

The informational bulletin "Krimski Studii" is distributed free of charge among the members of Ukrainian Parliament, ministries and departments of Ukraine (the humanitarian block), libraries of leading high schools of Kiev and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Verkhovna Rada and Council of Ministers of the ARC, foreign embassies and missions of international organizations, accredited in Ukraine, as well as NGOs of Ukraine.

At the same time, the staff of CIDCT makes daily monitoring of Ukrainian Mass Media on Crimea and Crimean Tatar issue. All materials are systematized and placed in electronic bulletin “Crimea in mirror of Ukrainian Mass Media” (one number for ten days), which emailed to all concerned parties.

In research activity, CIDCT supports a scientific theoretic researches and presentation of legal norms and mechanisms, which can be used as legislative initiative, and will be realized in non-governmental sector in the future.

The staff of CIDCT takes active part in conducting of seminars, round-tables and conferences on human rights, national minorities and indigenous peoples’ rights.

In the near future, CIDCT plans to create an electronic library, which will contain the normative-legal documents of governmental bodies of Ukraine on development of Ukraine, return and resettlement of the Crimean Tatar people, including the works of Ukrainian and foreign researchers on history and culture of indigenous peoples of Crimea – Crimean Tatars, Karaites and Krimchaks.

Certainly, as well as other NGOs, CIDCT strives to extend a circle of partners for mutual exchange by experience and cooperation in realization of projects, directed on building of civil society. We are always pleased also an appearance on pages of bulletin "Krimski Studii" the works of new authors.

In this connection, we hope, that opening of CIDCT web-site extends a circle of readers of our materials, including the works, which are published in our bulletin “Krimski Studii”.

At the same time, we understand that a placement and constant updating of all rubrics of our web-site will take a lot of time and our efforts. Nevertheless, we have optimism, because our basic goal is giving to all our readers, the information, which will be useful in their work. We are also sure that amongst you there are people, who will be able to offer us their own facilities on filling of our web-site, particularly such rubrics, as: "Electron library of Center of Information and Documentation of Crimean Tatars" and "NGOs". At the same time, we also will be exceedingly pleased the helps of volunteers, possessing good as Russian as English - for editing of our texts in English.
